October and December 2008. The Mystery Deal!
  • Plans for the Recyclers Convoy start date to coincide with the Cannonball Run in May were effectively derailed at meetings in December 2008.
  • We were basically advised by Trident that a consortium headed by a British Businessman man had purchase the rights to produce the Iceni in the USA and so by also the rights to enter the Iceni in the Gumball rally 2009.
  • The deal that had been stuck apparently involved seven figure funds obtained from the US Government bailout of Motor Manufacturers, The backing of a US State Senator and the reopening of a closed GM Factory to produce the vehicle.
  • Considering that a big part of our plans were to convert a Used Chevy Silverado Dually to use the Duramax Diesel Engine and other Technology as in the Trident to use as the Convoys RV Tow vehicle our initial feelings were mixed.
  • The worldwide recession had already started to have its effect but the potential of a Silverado Dually with a fuel use return of maybe 50 mpg on Bio-Diesel and the subsequent positive CO2 reductions which would add focus to the Professional Auto Recycling Industry still seemed to be an acheivable benefit of the overall deal.
  • Info about the new deal however only gradually trickled through as did repayment of loans to the vehicles developers which added to our unease.
January 2009. The goalposts get moved again
  • The new owners apparently wanted their own drivers for the Gumball Rally but would accept the two drivers we had arranged, provided they had their full drive fees not just deposits in the bank.
  • This added to our unease as the goalposts had seemed to have been moved so we backed off getting any monies from our drivers.
  • We also decided to put a hold on accepting any agreed sponsors funds which in retrospect was very wise as the next revelation was that the new owners had apparently received all control over who was on the Actual Gumball Trident Iceni Vehicle/s as part of the deal.
May 2009. The Gumball
  • Should we be or have been surprised that no Iceni, not even the one featured on the Gumball 3000 Stand, ran in the Gumball?
  • The answer is in one respect is Yes if you consider the millions of taxpayers money being pumped into promoting Greener Motor Manufacture!
  • We were surprised however that despite the marketing potential driven by the Millions of Dollars made available for Greener Vehicle Development and even the subsequent "Cash for Clunkers" incentives available to US vehicle owners there seems to be no news of a 200mph plus, bio diesel, capable of nearly 70 mpg at a constant 70mph sports car or Greener Silverado being available or soon to be in production.
  • Considering that it is privatly owned vehicles that are entered into the Gumball the reason we were told that there was not enough time to build a vehicle for the race seemed fairly weak to us.
  • The last information received was however a real breath taker when the estimate of for converting the working Iceni technology to fit in a Diesel Dually Silverado Donor Vehicle rose to £200,000.
June 1st 2009. Back to the original plan - Plus
  • Considering that the whole concept of touring around the USA was to promote beneficial costs and Environmental aspects of "The Professional Auto Recycling Industry" we had to return to our original concept of the towing vehicle itself being an advert for our industries products.
  • The original plan was to use any American Make of Dually Truck and rebuild it with and maintain it with Recycled Parts.
  • We thought that for once luck was on our side when the ideal doner Silverado was found at the ARA Show in Kansas City at host Midways Salvage Yard.
The Advantages of The Silverado Dually at Midways Salvage Yard - (Stolen Recovered)

Had to be Dismantled so could be purcased as virtually a complete set of Recycled Parts
Fit Duramax 6.6L V8 (LHH) which meets US EPA 2007 emission standards or earlier Type.
5 Recyclers at ARA said could provide Engines and the stolen parts for having their name on truck
Perfect central USA Location Workshop Facilities and more than helpfull staff and owners at Midway

June 1st 2009. Back to the original plan - Plus Continued
  • The age of any base doner vehicle is not written in stone but using a Silverado Dually still provides opportunities that may present themselves in the future. ?
  • The original plan allowed for Individual Recyclers and or any Group or Recyclers and or suppliers Associations to provide a doner vehicle and or parts and get Free advertising on the truck.
  • Every cloud has a silver lining and the Iceni and Gumball rally setback has enabled us to cement links and support from other environmentally minded Groups, Companies and Associations.
  • The extra time has also allowed us to activate plans to use the Find-A-Part systems used in Europe for over thirty years to direct buyers of parts to only Association Members.
  • We have been able to incorporated the ability of Suppliers to the industry to actively support Associations and their Members at no charge to those suppliers.
  • We have even been able to launch The Green Footprint Save and Save Online shop where anyone can take advantage of special on line deals to save money.
  • Maybe best of all the registration of a special web site will enable us to  throw out a gauntlet of challange to Truck manufacturers, Fuel Efficiency Accsesorry Manufacturers, and even posibly Governments and fuel companies to provide us with a more Environmentally Friendly Towing Vehicle.
  • Terry Gray will be arriving in the USA in early September 2009 and Phil Higginbotham will arrive about one week before the ARA show.

We have reproduced how this page looked prior to December 2008 below

During my lifetime in the Motor Industry I have never encountered two more exciting motoring projects that offer such unique business opportunities and enable me as an individual to "Leave Green footprints behind me" and make a wise investment.
The Green Footprint Program for, amongst many other general Environmental benefits, advancing the public perception of the Professional aspects of Auto Recycling and the Unique Trident Iceni Vehicle Development will I am sure be seen turning points in Motoring History.
The opportunity to work alongside individuals who have foresight, determination, have similar wishes for our Planets good as myself, and who are not afraid to work hard or stick their necks out, whatever the critisisum is an added bonus.
I am enjoying again, the buzz of life as are other business colleagues who I have involved in helping create something unique.
The bonus is that I know my investments will increase in value and the best example of this are the shares in the Five Unique Green Footprint Limited Edition Trident Icenis.
The Iceni Itself is a unique vehicle, the opportunity to buy shares in GFP 1,2,3,4 & 5 was like knowing next weeks lottery numbers.
There are still shares left at $200 per share in GFP1 which entitle but do not oblige the GFP1 share/s owner to take up similar share allotments in GFP 2, 3, 4 and 5.
If you would like to earmark some shares (Maximum 5 Shares), with no obligation, in GFP1 then simply click on the GFP1 picture, above mine, or mail GFP1Iceni@GreenFootprintnet.com stating the number of shares you wish to buy and either I or one of my business partners will contact you without obligation to discuss your requirements.

The bio-fueld Trident Iceni, sporting GFP Logos sat alongside supercars made famous by the globetrotting rally, including Gumball founder Maximillion Cooper's Jaguar XJ220, an Ascari A10 GT3 race car and a very special Porsche 997 GT2.

This glittering display of some of the world's most drawled over supercars and classic cars was supported by a second 90 minute live extravaganza hosted by Top Gear's Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.

GFP Limited Edition News Sunday the 9th of November
On a bright and breezy day the Gumball Rally Car took on a new look with temporary Find A Part, Green Footprint Auto Parts and Cork A Cow logos and my visit to the Trident Factory was to view the proof artwork which will form part of the look of the First GFP Limited Edition Iceni.
Working around the Rally cars sponsors Artwork which needed to stay in place for the  Birmingham show was a small problem compared to chasing the proof artwork around the car park when Phil Bevan decided to "Smoke the tyres" to show again the full power of the Iceni. From the collage of photos below it is easy to see how unique GFP 1 will look when it joins the Green Footprint Convoy of vehicles for the Actual Gumball Rally in May 2009.
