Why do we still run Premium Rate (09) Hotlines?
Quite simply some people still prefer to use the phone to put out a Parts Request and the income helps pay the staffs wages. |

Do we keep you on the phone so we earn more money?
No! And there are some very good reasons for this.
A - We are governed by strict Phone Pay Plus (PPP) and OFTEL Rules and have used these types of lines since they first started as 08 Numbers.
B - We only receive a percentage of the £1 per minute you pay!
C - Someone else is more than likely phoning us so the money we could earn from them is the same we earn from you!
D - People sometimes need help and the phone is still the best way for this to be handled.
E - Our company, The Original Find A Part prides itself on our reputation!
F - If extending calls was our priority why would we answer all of these questions on this page and not on a Premium rate Number? |

Do we charge a Commission on Parts?
No! We are not brokers of Parts! We simply let the best Network of Auto Recyclers know what you are looking for and if they can supply you they will contact you direct. |

Why don't we sit between buyer and seller and make a bigger profit by getting quotes and phoning the person looking for parts back?
A Question that has been asked many times, and there are some very good reasons for not operating this way.
1 - By buyer and supplier dealing direct both parties get the best deal.
2 - Why should a Supplier "Auto Recycler" Pay me a commission on Parts when they pay a flat fee for the service?
3 - Because our transaction is direct there is no ability for, or temptation for "Staff" to, for example Quote the buyer the highest price but get the Lowest priced part delivered.
4 - Because the buyer knows what Type of and indeed Standard of Parts they actually want
5 - Because often when a supplier contacts the buyer, they realise they need other parts, which the supplier may have.
6 - Because often a supplier may have more than one of that type of part in stock and by dealing direct they have the option to offer such.
7 - Because FAP suppliers are "Professional Auto Parts Suppliers" with expert knowledge that FAP has not got.
8 - Because as the founder and Chairman and an Ex Auto Recycler we will not not work that way! |

Do you vet Suppliers!
Yes! In the early days I travelled and have possibly visited more "Auto Recyclers" in the UK and around the World than anyone else on the Planet.
Plus! After 30 plus years in the industry and Supplier Members who have been with us from the start we are pretty sure we know what we are doing.
Plus! It is Find A Parts and indeed my reputation that gets tarnished if our members are not up to scratch. |

Is there more than 1 Find A Part system?
No and Yes! There have been since we started in 1978 numerous companies who have started "Used Parts Location Services".
Legally as the original Find A Part we are the only company able to trade as Find-A-Part, FindAPart, Find A Part or anything similar.
The phrase Find A Part was coined by myself, as the founder when I first started, and after 30 plus years it has become an accepted Name of the service operated by my company. |

What are "VCZP’S?"
"Virtually Carbon Zero Parts" are Parts that are Recycled by Professional Auto Recyclers
The description is copyright, Just like the Green Footprint Logo, of myself and my companies and my explanation of VCZP's is as follows
"In the manufacture of any Auto Part the process requires Materials, Labour, Machinery, Power and the resultant release of C02 and other often unhealth stuff"
"Auto Parts that are produced by Professional Recyclers in a way that is Environmentally responsible by default cause far less Co2 emissions than producing a new part"
"By default purchasing a "VCZP" makes both "Sound Economic and Environmental" sense. |

Are we the best?
Not for us or myself to say.
What we can say is that Motor Traders use us more than once and they defiantly want top quality parts.
What we can also say is that we have located an estimated 30,000,000 parts since it started. |

Should I take the cheapest Priced Parts!
There will often be a variation in quoted Prices, and this often depends on mileage, condition, Warranty period and delivery.
We do not set prices and you after all are the buying customer.

By buying a "VCZP" from a "Find-A-Part Member"/"Green Footprint Supplier"/"Professional Auto recycler" will I reducing my Carbon Footprint?
Yes. and possibly more than you may realise!
No actual figures are available, to our knowledge on the C02 emissions of New OEM Parts!
But we say "Yes" because it must be the logical answer!
If we are wrong, then no doubt someone will point this out to us.
But until it is proven otherwise, Yes is the answer. |

Is the "Professional Auto Recycling Industry" Globally Undervalued?
From a personal point of view, I believe it is Greatly Undervalued!
If it is considered that the greatest percentage of vehicles that come out of the doors of a Manufacturers site end up being dismantled, it gives people a true perspective on the massive size of the Industry Globally.
There is more than likely somewhere on this planet virtually every part for every vehicle made since year dot.
That I have many personal Industry Friends who I know have spent literally Millions on ensuring that their "Auto Recycling Operations" are Clean, Environmentally Operated and sell Quality Parts with a Warranty or Guarantee puts me in possibly a unique position to make this comment.
If because of "Misunderstanding" or "Misconception" or " Bureaucratic Naivety " or "Other Reasons" "The Professional Auto Recyclers" do not get "Due Recognition and Support" a massively valuable means of "Reducing Motoring Costs, Raw Material requirements, Co2 Emissions and other Resources" will be lost forever at a time when Global warming / Environmental issues are so prominent in many of the world populations thinking and efforts. |
